Winter Park Snowmobiling
Endless meadows stocked with the deepest fluffiest
powder. Mile after mile of corduroy-covered groomed trails. Open bowls
above tree line that offers unsurpassed views of the Continental Divide.
Snowmobiling in Grand County Colorado offers all three options and much
more, making it one of the top destinations for snowmobile riders in the
country. Snowmobiling is a great way to get into the
backcountry to access some unparalleled views of the Colorado high
country. Wildlife viewing is also possible and can be done safely and
efficiently from a snowmobile. Snowmobiling is so popular in Grand Lake
that the town has earned the rubric "Snowmobile Capital of Colorado".
Winter Park and the Fraser Valley boasts hundreds of miles of trails,
and visitors can either bring their own snowmobiles, or rent one from a
snowmobile business operating in the county every winter.
Vacation Inc recommends
Grand Adventures
for all your snowmobile rental needs. With three great locations to
choose from, Grand Adventures has the snowmobile experience for you.
Ride the Continental Divide as you never have before. Tours top out at
nearly 12,000 feet with views of the entire Winter Park Ski area and the
Fraser Valley - perfect for the beginner to intermediate rider and
families looking to experience Colorado's back country on a snowmobile.
For history buffs, the tours follow the historic "Moffat" railroad route
- the path of the old Denver and Rio Grande Western Railroad that trains
had to use up until 1927 when the tunnel through the mountains was
completed. Try Grand Adventures' newest location at
Winter Park Mountain Lodge located across from the Winter Park Resort.
You will see their snowmobiles arriving and departing from the base of
the ski area! For those who want the experience of riding up to the
Continental Divide at your own pace, try their two-hour rental.
The Grand Adventures location in Grand Lake, is 1/8th mile from Highway
34 on Main Street in town. Ride from here to over 100 miles of trails
for the intermediate to advanced rider. For all guided
and unguided tours, you must be 16 years old to drive and 18 to carry a
passenger. Minors must be accompanied by their parents.
