A 5,500 acre mountain paradise tucked gently into the alpine wilderness near the
west entrance to Rocky Mountain National Park, the Sol Vista Ski Basin at Granby
Ranch is like a ski area from the good ol' days of skiing in Colorado.
Sol Vista basin lives up to its reputation as a family-friendly mountain that
caters to those wanting to learn and is known for its guaranteed start to ski or
snowboard programs at special and economical prices. Easy access to the ski area
from the conveniently located parking lot, numerous beginner and intermediate
runs, and a trail system that funnels all skiers to one spot at the base lodge
make the area perfect for families.
To enhance that family skiing experience, the resort wants skiers to know that
its high speed detachable quad chairlift allows much more time for skiing on the
mountain than before. Snowboarders and skiers alike will be excited to
experience the enhanced terrain park with new rail slides.
The Sol Vista ski area is comprised of two separate yet inter-connected
mountains. East Mountain's terrain is primarily beginner and intermediate, while
West Mountain's terrain is primarily intermediate and advanced with limited
beginner access. A separate learn-to-ski park features a surface lift for
beginners. The ski area offers 406 acres of skiable terrain, with 30% beginner,
50% intermediate, and 20% advanced across 35 designated trails.
