Snow Tubing in Colorado
With tubing being such a popular winter activity away from the slopes of the Winter Park Ski Resort, it should not be a surprise that there are now 2 tubing hills in the area. The big surprise is that they’re right next to each other!
“The Original Fraser Tubing Hill” as they now like to call themselves, is located just 2 miles from downtown Winter Park, has been a perennial favorite for kids and adults alike, and is one of those “wacky” activities that cannot be missed during a winter vacation to this area.
The tubing hill itself is a groomed, lighted hillside, “smooth and slippery”, with a convenient tube-tow lift system that attaches to the tube itself to transport you back up to the top. From there, you speed down the hill in a large inflated inner tube (supplied) with an adrenalin buzz that is guaranteed to put a huge smile on your face! Descend individually, in tandems, or group “clusters” where the speeds are the highest, and the run-outs the longest!
An exciting fun activity for all the family, during the height of the season the tubing hill is open daily, although operating hours vary. Currently, they are Monday-Sunday, 10AM-10PM. Rates are $12.00 for 45 minutes, or $20.00 for 90 minutes. A warming house, hot drinks and snacks are also available.
This Fraser tubing hill is located 1/2 mile behind the Alco shopping center up the hill, and served by the free shuttle bus system that operates throughout the valley during the day and night.

The Colorado Adventure Park is a new operation to the valley, and is situated right next door to the “other” tubing hill. The difference is that the operation is based at the foot of their hill, plus they offer other activities such as sledding, airboards, snowscoots and sleigh rides.
Tubing is their most popular activity for families and instead of a tow, there’s a Magic Carpet lift to take you back to the top. They offer a variety of terrain from slow and easy to fast and wild to satisfy every craving for ages 3 and up.
Airboards are one of the newest additions to the park this year. These new tubes are faster and can be steered with an easy lean to the left or right. The Airboard is only limited by your nerve!! The airboards will take the same easy Magic Carpet lift to the top, but those who rent Airboards will have their own terrain park. Airboards will be offered to guests who are thirteen years and older.
