This small town of Fraser was founded in 1905 and became an incorporated town in 1953. The Midland Trail, which was also known as a transcontinental motor route, established the first Ford sales agency to the area in 1913. Before the incorporation of the town, the main industry was a lumber mill. A German POW camp existed from 1945-1946 producing and average of 25,000 feet of lumber daily onto rail cars during the World War II time. In 1948 and 1955, President Eisenhower was a frequent visitor to the area enjoying the fresh mountain area and fly fishing in the nearby streams.
Now the town of Fraser has grown into a residential area and offers several activities year round. During the winter season the most popular activity is snow tubing. This is great for all ages and offers additional activities that include air boards, snow scoots, free sledding and sleigh rides. During the summer months, you will have unlimited access to the outstanding mountain biking and hiking trails, fly fishing, Saturday night rodeos and close proximity to 3 golf courses.
