Sking with the Stars
One of this weekend’s main events is the Orage Pros and Powder Tour that will be visiting Winter Park Resort this Saturday January 6, 2007. The tour, which will be visiting eight major ski resorts this winter, is an opportunity for the public to meet and ski with some of the nation’s top pros in freestyle skiing.
Among the pro team riders appearing are TJ Schiller, an X-Games gold medalist; JP Auclair, free skiing pioneer; and Michelle Parker, one of free skiing’s leading ladies.
The Orage event is offering three tours with the pros starting at 10AM, noon and 2PM. Guests with a lift ticket or pass can sign up at the Orage tent located adjacent to the Zephyr Express lift to ski with one of the three famed free skiers free of charge. Each tour lasts about an hour.
During the event, the public can also join the pros for an après ski party at the Derailer bar. At that party, participants have the chance to win an all-expenses paid trip to Retallack Cat Skiing in the Selkirk Mountains.
My hunch is that there will be far more people wanting to ski with these pros than they can manage. How often does a free opportunity like this come along? Moreover, these guys are good! So, likewise, anyone siging up better be good also! This is not going to be a guided tour down Jack Kendrick!
